Preventing Bullying in our Classrooms - Alana N. Williams, Consultant & Trainer

Check out this article on school bullying and how schools, principals, and school counselors can deter bullying among our students. In the linked article by Lesley University, it provides 6 ways that educators can stop bullying within their schools.

The six strategies that are addresses in the article are:

Teach empathy and kindness, among the students.
Allow students to connect and interact through various activities.
Know the potential beginning signs of bullying.
Use music, drama, and art to stimulate students’ different perspectives.
Lessen bullying behaviors from leadership.
Staff engage in role-playing training to properly address bullying situations when they occur.

All of these tips are great. And, although there is no 1 answer or solution to prevent bullying, all of us to include, parents need to work together for the betterment and safety of each student.

Bullying is unkind and extreme bullying can cause cause detrimental emotional issues, school violence, and even suicide, so let all do our parts.
