Sexting

Sexting occurs when a person SENDS, FORWARDS, and/or RECEIVES sex-related mobile phone message.  The message may be in the form of written text, photos, videos, meme, or images.

Examples of Sexting

1.  Sending sexual explicit messages to your girlfriend/boyfriend

2. Forwarding a nude picture of a classmate

3. Sharing pornography with friends

STATISTICS


Nearly 40% of all teenagers have posted or sent sexually suggestive messages, but this practice is more common among boys than girls.

15% of teens who have sent or posted nude/semi-nude images of themselves send these messages to people they have never met, but know from the Internet.
